Ron Brand (2)_edited.jpg

Ron holds a Master of Science in Clinical Counseling and a Bachelor of
Science in Psychology from Central Methodist University. He is a licensed and
ordained minister with the Assemblies of God and along with his wife, Carla,
have served as youth pastor, lead pastor, and Assemblies of God U.S.
Missions workers.

Ron’s focus is on helping people improve their behavioral, cognitive, and
social skills, and developing coping strategies when dealing with individual
needs, family and friend relationships, anger, anxiety, grief, and depression.
Cognitive behavior therapy (CBT) focuses on changing thinking patterns. For
example, a counselor and client work together to identify thoughts that have a
negative impact on the client’s mental health and replace them with healthier
alternatives.

Ron credits his greatest education to his upbringing. “I had parents that were
devoted to Christ and the local church. There is no way I can overemphasize
their impact on my life.”

Ron feels his greatest accomplishment in life is his family. He has been
married to his wife, Carla, for 39 years; together they have two grown children
and one granddaughter.

Ron states, “I am thankful to be part of the Connected Counseling Services
team and continue to be a part of the helping profession.”
