Jackie Norris

Hi everyone! I am Jackie Norris, a provisionally licensed clinical counselor. I graduated from the University of Central Florida in 2020 with a Masters in Applied Learning and Instruction following in 2022 with a Masters in School Counseling and Mental Health Counseling from Missouri State University. I am credentialed in Play Therapy and Parenting Skills, working also toward credentials in Sand tray therapy and EMDR therapy. I started with Connected Counseling in 2020 , leaving to receive more schooling aimed at youth and young adults. After a short-term as a school counselor within a local rural district, I have decided to return to the mental health side of counseling.

My mantra is preventing versus intervention - working with adolescents/teenagers specifically, to prevent them from becoming a statistic or a part of the judicial system. I practice the Solution-Focused model, finding answers, strategies, and coping mechanisms to problems rather than understanding the why's and history's first. My passion is in seeing clients of any age develop their own strengths to face and overcome their challenges - moving forward as mentally and emotionally healthier individuals.
